So Grace and I were busking the other day...
We play an extremely island sounding uke-ified version of the following Jonas Brothers song:
Out of nowhere...
Trendy looking hipsters...
With curly dark hair...
Giving us slightly confused looks...
And Grace and I both had this moment of "Oh my gosh, was that the Jonas Brothers? Did they just walk by and hear us uke-ing their song?"
And then we both spontaneously burst into fits of giggles and laughter and could not finish...
I'm sure in Webster's next dictionary edition next to the word "epic" will be a picture of us.

#1 (with many more to come)
The huge variety of lakes, rivers and creeks to go swimming in. Come on, picture yourself living in Vancouver... What would your options be? A local chlorine and pee filled swimming pool? Or a road trip to Cultus Lake where you can pay for parking, and cram your little bikini clad self onto an overpopulated beach? Hmm, sounds like fun...
Vancouver Island, however, comes with a significant amount of options...
SO HERE'S YOUR CHALLENGE: Throw on your swimsuit, get out and discover someplace new. It doesn't have to be uncharted, just new to you... Then tell us about it!! We are always up for new adventures... :-)
Some places I've enjoyed... Frequented... Discovered.
- Up a backroad on Mount Prevost is a beautiful piece of heaven. Several creek fed pools back to back. Although the water is so pure and clean that you can see right to the details of the lake's floor it is deceivingly deep in spots! Follow the trail of the little creek offshoot at the back of the second pool to find a third lake, bigger than the first two. Last time I was there I enjoyed countless hours running and jumping off of a giant log propped as a diving board over the lake, and swinging on a rope swing.
- Tubing down the Cowichan River. Tres fun!
- Shawnigan Lake
- Maple Bay
- Lake Cowichan
- Sombrio Beach (on the West Coast)
- Along the Circle Route... Took a random turn on a logging road... Which lead to another random turn, and another... Drove for a couple of hours until literally the road ended. Found an old decaying bridge overtop of a beautiful stream... Of course we shimmied down the side of the bridge and went for a splash. :-)
- Many, many maanny more
SO THAT'S IT, you have been COMMISSIONED.
It's warm outside.
Find someplace new.

ok... at long last a new GRACETUBE has finally made it into existence! I can't believe it's taken this long... It's not like I was busy moving or anything... pffft. ANYWAYS... please excuse the lower quality a much nicer GRACETUBE is yet to come! This is simply to remind you all that I still love you and have not died.
I would love to hear some requests as well! What can I play for you? Just let me know in the comments. <3

Sica here! Just wanted to give you an up date on what I have been up to. I am leaving for africa in one day!!! I am so excited to be part of an awesome team working with christian Mission Aid and the water school to teach the Masai people in Kenya about clean water. It is this amazing project called SODIS. You should check out the website. http://www.thewaterschool.org/ I am going for three weeks and I am so beyond pumped!! It has been a crazy long road to get here, but thanks to alot of praying and some really great people I am going!!!
So in the Kenyan culture the dress is super conservative so we will have to wear skirts for the majority of the trip. I was a little freaked out at first cause of the fashion implications (I blame my mother that I care at all about fashion), my biggest concern being shoes. We can't wear sandals because of the Jibber bugs that attack your feet but Grace and I have come up with a solution that will help me with my matching obsession. Heres what we came up with
